Keep your child's mind engaged and growing during the school year with our diverse range of one-hour Zoom workshops! Designed for children in grades K-5, our WInter Workshop Series offers interactive and educational classes focused on literacy, science, math, and writing. Classes are available as single workshops or 4-week courses. Each month there will be a different set of classes available and offered on different days/times.
Each class is just $20, or you can choose any three classes for $50.

For Grades K-2:
*Astrology: Learning About the Sun, Moon, & Stars (Single) – 1 hr
- Students will learn go on a journey to discover what they see in the sky and what they can see and do outside because of the sun's light. They will answer the question... "How does the sun appear to change position in the sky?" This class is part of a multi-part class looking at the sun, moon, and stars.
*Bridging the Gap - K-2nd grade Reading (4-week Course/ Once a Week) – 1 hr
- Does your child need a boost in understanding skills like sequencing, characters, context clues, story retell? If so, this 4-week course is perfect for your child in K-2nd grades.
* Week 1 – Characters in Stories

* Week 3 – Compare and Contrast Story Elements
* Week 4 – Context Clues
*Dinosaur Phonics (4-week Course/ Once a Week) – 1 hr
- Students will learn and reenforce specific phonic skills like vowel sounds, syllables, rhyming words, and more! Students will learn about different dinosaurs through songs, stories, and phonics!
* Week 1 – Give me an A! Dinos that begin with the Letter A.
* Week 2 – Can you Rhyme?
* Week 3 – We can Write about Dinos
* Week 4 – All Aboard the Dinosaur Train!
For Grades 3-5:
*What’s in a Screen Play? (Single) – 1 hr
- In this class, students will be able to recognize the components of a play and drama, including basic structures and organization. They will also be able to develop fluency while reading plays or dramas. This will help them be one step closer to developing their own play or drama!
*Breaking Down Biology: Cirulation and the Heart (4-week Course/ Once a Week) – 1hr
- Students will explore why their heart can beat at different rates. They will explore the respiation and curculatory systems and how how body protect these systems.
* Week 1 – Why Am I Breathing so hard?
* Week 2 – What is the Respiratory System
* Week 3 – What is Circulation?
* Week 4 – Stuctures of the Heart
*Jump Into Reading: Upper Elementary/Middle School (4-week Course/ Once a Week) – 1 hr
- Students will be learning different strategies to use while reading. They will be able to compare and contrast the experience of reading to listening to an audio version of a poem and compare and contrast reading short stories on the same topic. Students will also be able to use word parts (affixes & roots) to help determine the meaning of words.

No prior experience or knowledge is required. These classes is open to learners of all reading levels, from beginners to those looking to enhance their existing literacy skills. The instructor will assess the learner's current level and offer persoanlized reading instruction.
