Would you like some summer reading suggestions for your class or for parents? There are many benefits to reading aloud to children of all grade and age levels. Whether through a signed or spoken language, children are listening to each word and building the knowledge required to be successful readers themselves. You are a model for the child; tone, intonation, and prosody. You are also introducing children to new vocabulary in context that they can add to their background knowledge. Lastly, You are setting the tone for reading by showing them how reading can be fun.
This product includes 8 lists; grades K-8, with 10-15 suggestions for summer reading. We all know how important it is for children to keep up with reading over the summer to prevent the dreaded "summer slide"!
